JJR’s Delaney-Shal Named IT Executive of the Year

Dayton, Ohio—Technology First, a technologist trade association in Dayton, has named JJR Solutions Executive Vice President of Customer Mission Success Jill Delaney-Shal as its 2023 IT Executive of the Year. Technology First made the announcement in their November 8 Leadership Awards ceremony.

The IT Executive of the Year Award recognizes a senior-level professional responsible for influencing progress and developing teams through leadership excellence. The awardee must also exemplify the values of Technology First: Creating a community to share knowledge, grow business, and build for the future.

Delaney-Shal is a recognized leader and pioneer for progress in information technology management. With more than 15 years of leadership excellence, she is renowned for her forward-thinking management best practices that facilitate exceptional client experience, service delivery, and project operations.

Since joining JJR in 2017, Delaney-Shal has successfully influenced the company’s progress and growth by scaling service delivery and expanding JJR’s presence within the Federal market. Building a comprehensive service delivery organization, she cultivates the very best in her client delivery teams as they provide a wide range of transformative technology solutions to Federal clients. The result has been flawless execution of customer engagements and a history of “Exceptional” customer feedback ratings. 

Prior to joining JJR, Delaney-Shal directed international teams of 300+ engineers, business analysts, and quality assurance testers at LexisNexis. Under her leadership, her teams built technology solutions to revolutionize and transform legal decision-making through information and analytics products.

Outside of JJR, Delaney-Shal is dedicated to the growth and success of the next generation of technology leaders. A passionate advocate for computing education, she serves on the Wright State University (WSU) Computer Science & Engineering Industry Advisory Board and has spoken at the Grace Hopper Celebration through her engagement with AnitaB, an international organization devoted to connecting, inspiring, and guiding women in the computing profession.

Delaney-Shal’s service to the Dayton community goes beyond technology. She has leveraged her leadership skills by serving a four-year term on the YWCA Dayton Executive Board and currently serving as JJR’s community liaison to the Gala of Hope Foundation and Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley. Most recently, she joined the board of the Red Cross Central & Southern Ohio Region and the pastoral council of Our Lady of Light Parish

Delaney-Shal holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering degree from The Ohio State University and has completed executive education at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and holds SAFe® Scrum Master Certification.
