JJR Names Two Employees to Shadow Board

Dayton, Ohio—JJR has announced the selection of two employees to serve on its Shadow Board – Ani Thompson and Lisanne van Engelen.

“I’m so pleased to welcome Ani and Lisanne to our Shadow Board,” shared Dave Judson, JJR Chief Executive Officer. “I am thankful we have passionate and driven folks that want to participate in shaping the direction of our company and give of their ‘extra’ time in this way.”

The Shadow Board is a team of select JJR employees that meets quarterly with JJR’s Executive Team to provide perspective and counsel on topics such as:

  • Overall company health

  • Progress towards the company’s strategic plan

  • New initiatives

  • Challenges and threats

  • Changing market conditions

Thompson and van Engelen were selected by JJR executives after completing an application and providing a supervisor letter of support.

Ani Thompson joined JJR in 2017 to support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in their efforts to award grants to Veteran and family health research projects. She currently serves on JJR’s Market Development and Growth Team where she shares the JJR story as a marketing communication specialist. Thompson is also JJR’s community partner liaison to Blue Skies for the Good Guys and Gals, a non-profit that honors our nation’s Veterans, wounded warriors, and the families of fallen heroes through life-enriching experiences.

Lisanne van Engelen joined JJR in 2021 as a data analyst on JJR’s U.S. Space Force contract. She currently leverages her data analysis, Power BI, and programming skills to provide clinical decision framework support to VA’s Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. Van Engelen engages in her community by volunteering at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, where she provides online tours to visitors and has developed online experiences for elementary students using the Smithsonian Learning Lab and ArcGIS StoryMaps.

Thompson and van Engelen will serve a two-year term on the Shadow Board.
